Rising elegantly above the commercial fabric of Coimbatore, the Siva Trade Centre is a beacon of modern corporate architecture. Designed to host leading global and domestic enterprises, the building merges premium retail space on the foundational floors with highly adaptable, grade-A office suites tower above. We focused on creating a vibrant vertical ecosystem that encourages business networking while offering panoramic views of the city.

The Proposal
Corporate architecture must be agile. The Siva Trade Centre utilizes a central core design, pushing structural columns to the perimeter to provide expansive, column-free floor plates. This maximum flexibility allows future tenants to easily configure open-plan coworking spaces or highly segmented executive suites with equal efficiency.
The Corporate Experience
The journey begins at the grand entrance plaza, a 40-foot high glass atrium that serves as a dynamic urban living room. Fast-track destination dispatch elevators ensure smooth tenant flow even during peak hours, representing the highest standards of commercial mobility.
We incorporated biophilic design elements throughout the tower. Double-height sky gardens every four floors act as communal breakout spaces, bringing nature into the high-rise workspace and actively improving air quality and employee well-being.

Structural Excellence
Building tall requires absolute structural rigidity. The tower employs a robust reinforced concrete core complemented by an advanced outrigger system to withstand high wind loads and provide exceptional seismic stability.
The MEP layout was designed specifically for commercial density, featuring high-efficiency chillers and intelligent building management systems (BMS) that monitor and restrict unnecessary energy consumption, significantly lowering operational costs for tenants.
The Dynamic Skin
The facade is wrapped in a high-performance, double-glazed unitized curtain wall. We added vertical fins fashioned from anodized aluminum that act as passive solar shading devices. As the sun moves, these fins create a dynamic shifting pattern of light and shadow across the building's skin.
Facade Narrative
The intersection of the glass curtain wall and textured stone paneling creates a visual dialogue with the surrounding urban medical campus. This choice of materiality is not merely aesthetic but functions to manage solar gain and thermal insulation across the facility's northern exposure. Each stone panel is placed to create a rhythmic shadow play that evolves with the sun's position, softening the building's massive clinical volume into a more human-scale architectural presence.
The Glowing Spire
The Siva Trade Centre defines the nocturnal skyline. Programmed LED strips integrated into the architectural fins allow the building to communicate through subtle light displays. The crown glows brightly, marking its presence as the premier corporate destination in the city.

For complex architectural projects, structural integrity and meticulous planning are crucial at every phase. The coordination of medical high-technology with traditional building systems requires an advanced level of foresight to prevent future operational conflicts.

Advanced wind tunnel testing influenced the aerodynamic corners of the building, reducing the structural load and eliminating uncomfortable downdrafts in the pedestrian plaza below.
